  1. WATCH THIS A2S PREMIERE: Tic Tic Boom – “The Open”

    April 18, 2012 by Steph

Kalem and I had so much fun making this video with Tic Tic Boom! I’ve gotten to know the front-duo Mike and Leilani of this dark synth pop band pretty well over the last year and they’re really great to work with.

We wanted to create something a bit more than a live session, but not quite a music video for the acoustic version of the track “The Open” from the band’s sophomore EP Reasons & Rhymes. What we ended up with is what we’re calling a “b-sides video” for this b-side track and I hope you enjoy it!

We filmed all outside of Mike and Leilani’s apartment in Hollywood, California and inside their home studio.

  2. Choir of Young Believers

    February 4, 2012 by Steph

Choir of Young Believers from Denmark is sci-fi pop with 80s/Joy Division undertones. The beats are muted and the synth is prominent on “Patricia’s Thirst.” “Nye Nummer Et” takes a wholer, more cinematic tone, swelling with a violin and minor-key falsetto, bordering on Active-Child indie-opratic.

Their sophomore album Rhine Gold will be released March 20 on Ghostly International and they’ll be on a U.S. tour this Spring. See them in L.A. at The Echo on March 9th.
